Day 365 – The End

Coffs Jetty Marina Sunrise

Well… it’s finally here – the end of my Project 365! Even though it has finished late, better late than never right? I held off posting my last post for the project because I wanted to finish on a high if I could. So I have been waiting for a nice sunrise like today provided, and even managed to get in some light painting over the weekend.

What better way to end with where I started on day 1 – at the Coffs Harbour Jetty. The only problem is I had 2 photos from this morning taken 7 minutes apart that I liked, and I couldn’t decide which to post,  so I will leave it up to you to decide which one you like more. The earlier one was at the start of the post, and here is the one just after sunrise.

A massive thank you to everyone for their support, comments, and likes throughout my extended Project 365.  😀

    • Thank you! I was leaning more towards that one but I did like the orange of the sun and the reflected light along the jetty in the earlier image. Lucky I didn’t have to decide for myself. 😀

  1. Your 365 was amazing! Congrats! I prefer the warmer tones (oranges) of the 1st photo. Are going to continue blogging regularly?

    • Thanks so much Rick. I hope to keep up the blogging thing on a regular basis. I just have to figure out now if I am going to undertake another project as such…. hmmm. Thanks again for following my little 365 journey. 😀

    • Thank you! It turned out to be much a much bigger (and longer) project than I thought. I will continue posting for sure… and may even take on another project shortly is some shape or form. Thanks again for all your kind words, and for following my work for all this time… It is hugely appreciated. 😀

  2. Congratulations on your successful 365 ! I be you’re so happy to know that it is finally over. I’m 90 days in and ready for the project to end already. Challenging to find new ideas every day.
I like the second sunrise photo best, with the beautiful sunrays. And the light painting photos are amazing Ian. Keep posting as I love your work.

    • Thank you Emily! I am half sooooo glad that it is done, and half very sad that it is over. At the end of the day, I don’t think now I need a reason to get out and take photos anyway. It is what I love doing, and if I had the chance, I would travel the world taking photos forever!
Now… try not to get too far behind in your 365 like I did… lol.
I would like to start another project of some sort, and I have a few ideas, but I want to get to know my new ‘friend’ that arrived yesterday a little better before I commit to anything serious! 😀
Thank you again hugely for your kind comments, and taking the time to visit my site. Now I get to sit back and enjoy your 365.

  3. Must be good knowing the project has finally come to an end. For all our sakes I hope it doesn’t mean you’ll stop posting these fab images Ian.
Both great images, but the first pips it for me. You have indeed ended on a high.
Thanks for sharing these images with us – i for one will be looking out for your next project 🙂

    • It’s good to not be under the pressure of trying to come up with an image that I am happy to share… but then again I probably work best under pressure! 😀 Thank you Steve, I hope to at least post a few photos each week until I decide what direction I will head in next, and thanks for the support.

  4. Congratulations Ian upon completion of Project 365! I think I too prefer the 2nd photo, just. But if I’m completely honest, my favourite is the one of the beach with the stunning red wisps of cloud & 365 written in the sand! Looking at your photos and thinking of the challenge is making me wish for my 365 again, but I don’t think I could do that again, not yet anyway. I have absolutely loved your posts and you know, I’ve said it before, I don’t want you to stop, so I’ll be very keen to see what you do next. Thanks for sharing 🙂

    • Thanking you Roo! 🙂 You would have no idea how many times I wrote 365 in the sand… arrrgh! I wanted to have the waves washing over the 365 after a long exposure, but there was too shorter period between waves every single time…lol. This is the best from 3 mornings at attempting it, and then I gave up… so thank you!!! I still have a lot of ideas I didn’t get a chance to try out, so you may even see a 365 version 2. A massive thank you for following my journey, and for your always kind words.
